deluxe vs. dark

Post by barney steele »

How do these two compare? can the deluxe do the same thing as the dark or is it a totally different animal?

I was wondering the same.

I just got MeatDLX, and I been messing with it for two days now, trying to get more acquainted with it.

 I was really confused :bong2: with Fliter knob on the first day. The way I had my Matamp set up did not go too well wih the Filter control on my DLX. I had to borrow my friend's Fender amps to study my meatDLX.

with filter knob allway to the right, I can get good amount of Bass from DLX.
compaired to my standard... it's like adding bass without giving up the top end and fuzziness.
If the Dark sounds similar to it or if it's got even more bass, then I am most definitely up for a Dark meathead. :cthulhu2:

May be . . . some of winners of recent acution for the DarkMeat will chime in and share their opinion ??

I have a DLX and also one of the original run one-knobbers that the dark is modelled on. The dark version is a just slightly more "obese" and has a fatter low end across the "dirt" spectrum, although the DLX will get you damn close.

Thanks for the comparison. If the DLX is very close then I think I will roll with that when it gets here. My GTO140 with my picoso produces insane amounts of bass plus I think the DLX is more versitile. Just trying to keep my pedal board setup simple and some cash in my pocket.

I have been collecting Meatheads lately, as it is, when my next two arrive I am going to try and run them through and post some clips. I absolutely love both the one-knob models I have now, it is a genius pedal.

hello.. newbie here! ;)
So the deluxe has more low end and anger compared to the current normal one knobber?
I'm hoping to get from a friend a dark and a B&G soon... can't wait to try dams out!

And how would the dark compare to the B&G ?

ok .. I had a chance to try both the dark and the b&G... First of all you need a 4*12 for the dark, and a SG at least!

on my 1*12 the B&G sounded excellent with the strato giving it a huge insane fat tone! The dark was a no no no!
So plugged in the 4*12 and the sg and bloody hell it's insane! Very good low end and angry sounding, shakes your speakers for good! Damn .. i gotta buy a sg now!

Also the b&G sounded insane thru the 4*12 turning my strato into a heavy riffing machine! I couldnt believe I had a strato plugged there!

So I can't wait to put my hands on a DELUXE now... :marx:
