I opened up to see inside of my red rooster.
and I'm curious what this black component in the middle (left of transistor) does?
looks like a variable resistor.. is it changable?

i think your talking about the trim pot for setting the bias......

That's a trimpot. Sets the bias on the transistor. I don't touch things like that because Dave and Linzi know how to set them properly and I don't.

One of the funniest things I have ever seen was an interview with Noel fielding where he complained his fans knew more of his character's dialogue from the Mighty Boosh then he did.

He said something like, "when a stranger comes up to me in the street and asks if I, 'wanna go to a club where people wee on each other' I think it's a genuine question because I don't even remember saying that in the show."

It is kind of creepy. For a short while, all of my buddies were all about this video a few years back. My wife told me about it and she found out from a neighbor of ours...who is cool, but kind of odd humored.
