One I forgot: Built to Spill, Perfect from Now On. Soon as the opening notes play, you can’t stop listening till the record is done.

I'm on a country kick after a long time off, so new-to-me Willie records are exactly what I need.HorseyBoy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 10:25 pmHope you dig it. It’s Willie tracing a relationship breakdown. Side A is from the woman’s POV, side B from the man’s. All linked together. Baroque country soul masterpiece.jagermonster wrote: ↑Fri Apr 27, 2018 5:42 pm
Never heard Phases and Stages. Just ordered a cheap LP, looking forward to spinning it. Thanks!

And one more I can't believe I left out: Big Star, 3rd or Sister/Lovers. Whatever you call it, it's incredible from start to finish and has a mood and feel of disintegration and decay like no other record I've ever heard. Not exactly a party record, but flat-out compelling every time I listen to it.

^ a big yes for Big Star, reminded me of Elliot Smith, Either/Or, also an excellent album. I'm not sure why I associate those two together (I know he covered their songs) I think I discovered them at the same time

I keep waiting for Botophucket to block my images, but they still work for now. When the accursed day finally comes, the previously shown and named below two albums shall forever keep me company.
Neurosis - A Sun That Never Sets
In The Woods... - Omnio
But honestly, I only listen to albums as a whole, always have. Songs never hold as much meaning outside of their respective album.
