Vancouver's - LIONS IN THE STREET

Cool little band playing early 70's rock. Humble Pie, Stones, Faces vibe.

Absolutely. I just have copies of these discs from a friend...--they're apparently out of print ('98)
If anybody over that side of the pond see them around (used, new, anything) please let me know!

cheers

The Attack.
Image
The bloke on the far right is Geoff Richardson, guitarist with The Attack for their 3rd single in '67.
He wrote the b-side Colour of My Mind (a Freakbeat cult classic) and he lives here in Santa Barbara, met him at the local guitar shop. Crazy shit. He grew up in Dartford, same as Keith, Mick & Phil May (Pretty Things). He remembers Gary Hurst at Macari's "Oh, Gary!" when i was going on and on about Tone Benders...Dick Denney used to customize his amps back in the day. He saw The Yardbirds with Jeff Beck at Marquee in '65, as well as Syd & Pink Floyd in '67. But he doesn't really revere what they did back then...more into Blues & R&B. He later designed the Kubicki guitars (with no headstock) that Fender bought-out & people like Duran Duran used :hyper: and the baseball bat guitar John Fogerty used in the video for Centerfield. :freakout:

Excellent band. There's the odd duffer but when they got it right ("Any More than I Do") they're superb. I got into them when I heard a them on a recording of the last ever broadcast of john Peel's Perfumed Garden.

I haven't seen that photo before PD, thanks for that.
