I like more than 9 Doors songs but could never get through the Oliver Stone film. The Ed Sullivan segment would piss me off & I'd turn it off. This one appears to be done correctly, thanks!

Re: When You're Strange: A Film About The Doors
ugh, that terrible Doors "movie"with Val Kilmer!!
i feel the same way, just can't watch it.
i like the quote relating to the new film:
“They say if you remember the ‘60s you weren’t there,” said producer Dick Wolf. “I can state definitively that one of the things I do remember is buying THE DOORS first album the day it came out and then listening to it about ten or twelve times in a row. Both sides. Every song. I’ve been a fan ever since. This movie is the story of the band but it is also an insight into a moment in time that will never be repeated.”

What I also like is that it doesn't seem to be about Jim and there other three guys that are shown because Jim was in a band. I'm sure more time will be devoted to Morrison than the others, but the film maker shows appreciation for the fact that The Doors were a band in which each member was critical in producing their music.
