Ha. That was thee exact moment Rock n Roll lost it's dance-ability and became a self indulgent art show!
You're right, the dancers are completely dumbfounded. what's this?...boring, sorry just my opinion.
i watched until 4:21 but the bow bit is too much for me...

but it is amazing that these films are available to us.
thanks for putting that up..

I second the sentiment about dance-ability.

nice version of the Otis Redding classic!
Their producer Shel Talmy (early Who & Kinks) has always said he cannot understand
why The Creation was not a HUGEly popular band...but something did happen c.66
with RnR. Guys and girls separated. pop music was now for girls. and guys had cock rock.
of course some girls like that stuff, but pop music has never been the same since...

Some teenage kid pointed this out to me last year. I'm like, How old are you?

I agree.. though I still like much music post 67'.
The early more naive rock n roll is the most fun and honest.

Didn't Iggy blame the Beatles and the release of Sgt Pepper?
Then everyband wanted to become more art and less rock n roll.

yeah, a lot of people say Sgt. Pooper was it.

but i disagree, i think it was just the changing of times.
more selfish 70s and 80's on the way...(the ME decade, etc)

boring folk music on the way....

shows became a spectacle to watch instead of stompin and having fun.
and you had to be some kind of rock-god talent to be in a band. (the Rock n Roll "Canon")

That all changed with '77 Punk, of course...

whatever entertains is cool.

sometimes it's cool to be wowed by someone's abilities.
i mean look at jazz. every live performance had solos from each performer that lasted 5 to 10 minutes each.

i like it all!
as long as the performers are having fun, then i can get into it.

At least we can enjoy footage of days gone by..

This stax show from norway is some of the best.. I owned a bootleg for a long time and forced many to watch it over the years.
I highly recommend the DVD to anyone who hasn't seen it and digs soul music.
