more killer fuzz - the Sparkles - all the way with FZ-1A!

Handmade, high-impact, great-looking radical queer germanium fuzz. A different approach to 1960s-inspired fuzz pedals, no clones, check them out at https://goodfuzzysounds.com or on YouTube https://tinyurl.com/GFS-YT

here is one we built for a customer to try out: built to the standards at small bear's article ( 9v battery cut down to 1.7 v):

video was shot outside last week. - amp ( one 12 jtm 45 clone) was distorting too much in the beginning, notice at 1:40 i turn down the pregain and it gets better. also note the nice echo from the building in front of our shop.

note on the above ^^^

our customer passed on buying this unit and instead bought a real vintage nit form 68. 1.5v model, 2n2613 transistors. he brought his new baby to the shop yesterday for us to compare and drool. very original great condition, even had the box and manual.

the good news is that our clone sounded tonally very very close to the original. the gain differences we found were directly related to battery voltage. at first, we thought our clone was a little weak, but after swapping in a stronger battery, all was good. everyone listening agreed they sounded near identical.
