Hope things get better for you Jim. I think you have the right idea with the first come, first served method. Not like your builds won't sell really fast doing it this way either.
As a builder, I totally understand getting overwhelmed and having things take way longer than anticipated. It's hard to turn down orders, but I find not having the pressure to finish builds makes me build better pedals. Especially when you are building fuzz pedals and the tuning process is a huge part of the final product. Plus, I have a day job where I am dealing with pedals all day. Sometimes it's really hard to spend my nights building too.
