What no side switch? This is correct. It was making my tuning of the pedal a little erratic at times. Vintage replication? Or my own take on things!? The solution - The 1965 Tone Distorter TD-00 is tailored for the vintage replication, the Super Zee SZ-13 is me poking around with this prehistoric fuzzer. Simple.
There is a web page for the 1965 here pointing out the obvious to those that know, not so obvious to those that don't. In a nutshell, I've seen a bunch of vintage MKI's and this is them manifest into one object. The vintage units all differ in one way of another but I'd say as a general summing up of things (based in information known thus far) this 1965 is closer to the later dry letter transfer model, which had a slightly decreased output cap, therefore has a bit more midrange cut and shove, which I prefer. More punchy than muddy on the lower end of the spectrum.
Any huws. The 1965. 13 years later.
