A little bit o' Grease (Box) goes a long way

Post by cubba »

Just wanking a bit with the Grease Box.
Man I LOVE this pedal into a JTM-45 style amp.

Idiot that I am :choke: , managed to knock the pedal onto the floor  :

I wish Dave gave you one of those little touch-up paint cans they used to give you in the glovebox of American cars back in the 70's.
Oh well, it's on it's way to relic'd status. Still sounds the same, maybe better....

That sounds like Michael Schenker stuffed in a wee pink box. Love it! :badlove:

Yep, great playing and clip! My one has a few battle scars, its all good stuff.

The Grease Box is still my No1 favorite fuzz.

I liked the pedal before but boy did it really make a lot of sense when I ran it into the Plexi-type head.

Someone mentioned Schenker ... yeah, there is a certain amt of focused, wah-like midrange in this pedal that sounds like him.
Next time I'll try a Ronson-flavored clip, because this pedal has some of his sound in it too.
It's like the MKI in the EQ response, tho' that's about as close as it gets.

And another thing.... clips (without accompaniment) are the realm of guys with serious chops (Xan, cado, Philip, etc.)
Without a band, I never know what the hell to play when you hit record on the camera as I never studied and don't practice. :hihi:
At least here I was having some fun just grooving a bit to my own drum.

Found some Taxman in there.
Not note for note but the tone is pretty good (tho' it noticeably loses something on the upload).
