More photos have been uploaded from that November Beatles rehearsals showing two MKI's. https://www.gettyimages.co.uk/photos/be ... ar#license
These appear to show Gary Hurst talking to George.

I could be wrong, but the first photo especially looks like Gary.
Additionally, I'd say these photos and the timing of them, November 65 post Rubber Soul sessions) are suggestive evidence that they used an FZ-1 on Rubber Soul. Why would Hurst deliver something they already have?

Even if it's not him it's likely that he delivered the pedals there in November or December '65 as he remembers delivering two pedals to a rehearsal space at Cambridge Circus, if the translation of this article isn't way off: https://translate.google.de/translate?s ... There were rehearsals at a different location near Cambridge Circus in August, though. BUT we can tell that the Beatles pedals were made later than that. The photos are good enough to tell that the Tone Bender name on their pedals is set in one line, which means that they're most likely screen printed device. The Beat Instrumental competition pedals (from September '65) still used dry transfer lettering with the name set in two lines.
Everything is transitional.

I asked Gary and he said it’s him
Also, interestingly enough, in some of the photos a copy of the Rubber Soul LP can be seen on top of the organ.
Maybe the Nov 20th date is wrong? The LP came out Dec 3rd, surely they wouldn’t have the albums fully printed up and finalised two weeks in advance?

Not odd that they'd have some variant or proper version before it was released.

Hmmmm - interesting stuff- Ill ask Gary if its him when I see him next - and ask if the Beatles already had one . . . I don't think this says they definitely didn't as Cambridge Circus is literally 1 min walk from Macaris or Jennings for that matter - they may have called to say theirs was dodgy - please bring some ones that work . . . . . Personally if I had to guess I would say it was Gary - but I'm sure he'll remember that tie either way . Very Cool !
