No, certainly not pre-MKI, based off the dates and language of the ads. There's some evidence revealing the possibility that the MKI might have actually been sold at the Selmer shop itself in 1965. The Buzz Tone is based off the FZ-1 though. It's darker and has a 'fizzier' quality to it than the FZ-1, and it has shittons of output volume. It also does more than just a 'dirty boost' as people have described others - it's pretty fuzzy at full tilt.
This is a comparison (as rough as it gets) between the two that I did ages ago:

Tbh they both sound great in that vid. Had a FZ-1 back in early 2000s. Had a solid state amp at the time and together sounded crap..... sold it on eBay cheap. Wish I’d sold the shit amp.
Little did I know how to use fuzz properly and with a tube amp .. bummer

It actually is
these models usually have a really dull silver hammertone, but for whatever reason, this one came off the line looking fab. Miraculously it even sounds good too.-
