That pink one sounded great with my rig. She's in good hands now :tu:

Nice! How does the hybrid compare to the Slomeat?

The original owner wanted the hybrid to be more midrangey like the early meatheads, there's a lot less bass and more midrange push....probably more like the old standard meat vs dark meat. The hybrid suits smaller combos, where the bass from the slomeat can be too much into a 1x12, it wants to push something a lot bigger.
The top end of the hybrid seems a bit softer, sort of rounded off and a bit grainier, maybe the germanium effect, the slo has a stronger more forceful top end .
Both are heavy as hell but opposite ends of the meathead spectrum. Almost like a marshall with the midrange attack and a mesa with the huge low end and glassy top.

So whats the deal on the old low gain meat heads?
Also curious about the black and gold meats?

They're not so much lower gain, just voiced differently. The old guys are more mids biased compared to the newer M-13's.
The B&G Meatheads, to my ear, have more mids like the old guys but also a little more bass heavy...best of both worlds!
