Steve:
“Transitional with pruned clover, BC173B transistors, all original though it’s got a plugged hole from a previous 9v adaptor that I removed, for this for 200 quid from Italy so I’m not too worried about the hole! This thing is a strong wah! Really good. Original Icar”.

Re: VINTAGE VOX & CRYBABY INFO & APPRECIATION
Particular variants may not be particularly good examples. Like many pickup builders have said. Not all PAF’s sound great! And not all 50s Les pauls play well.
Sometimes I think it’s coming across a “good” one.
With a little knowledge at least we have a basic timeline here to see where it fits in. But it’s parts more than likely won’t confirm if they are in spec or were all that good to start with.

Not only do you have to find a good one, but then it has to also play nice with the rest of your toys!

True. That JMI I had, although a treat for the eyes and a wah collectors dream I’m sure was pretty average in sound.

Kevin Ayers using an early 'Clyde' Vox wah (presumably in late-'67/early-'68?)

Nice!
It was creams “white room” that put the vintage wah on the map for me.
This is November 68 NYC.
I’m guessing it’s a Script wah but could really be one of many

So thoughts!
This is October 1968
Is Clapton using a Italian Trash can with the white rubber base ( post 36000 serial ) OR is it a trick of the light?

This ones a bit crazy. I’ve seen these guts before in a post Clyde pre trash can model but never in a top logo
