How long do you leave batteries in your fuzzes?

Post by Jazzmann »

How long do you leave batteries in your fuzzes? I guess most of you, just like I, have several fuzzes with batteries. And not all of them gets played all the time. Some very seldom.
Do you leave batteries in all of them? How long does it usually take before unused batteries start to leak?

I check them usually once in year and no leakage so far.

I think this has been brought up before.
Tbh I leave them in and haven’t had any trouble over the past 25 years of playing.
If pedals are sitting for longer than 6 months then I’d remove them.

the only pedals i've had that have had battery leakage are the ones with AA batteries like FZ-1 type pedals... i always remove AA's now... i'm not sure i've ever seen a leaky 9 volt...

Hey that battery looks solid, it’s probably been running that pedal for forty years and when it’s done we pour it out and make some Irn Bru 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

whenever any nasty juices start to run out of the bottom :]

oops first post in years and rather unhelpful seriously though you'd be utterly amazed how long some of my pedals have gone on one set then there are the other lot "hungry beasts" less said about those the better

oh yes - hi to everybody who knows me still fuzzing along just can't find anything i need anymore - maybe one or two a year :[-
