Vintage Maestro FZ-1 or 1a owners - question

Post by fernieite »

Hi all,

If you have a vintage FZ-1 or 1a, could you please tell me how long the input cable is please? ( from the pedal body to the beginning of the 90 degree molded end )

I have a right angle Switchcraft cable that I'd like to install on my 68 FZ-1a and want it to have the proper length. It has an old replacement cable on it now, but I don't know if it's the stock length or not.

Thanks!

My old FZ-1’s cable is about 70 inches.

my FZ-1 has metal Switchcraft plug, not the plastic one, and the cable is only 51 inches (132cm). I'm not sure but i think they came with these as well as the plastic plugs - mostly right-angle but some straight ones too. Interested to hear about others.

Thanks guys!

The replacement that I'll be putting on this is the typical right angled molded Switchcraft. My current cable is a 9 foot long (108") black modern one. Doesn't look right, and it's way too long.

My FZ-1 still has the original cable/plug, and it also measures roughly 70 inches :tu:

Jerms would also be a good one to ask. He did a run of OG-looking Maestros.
