That is my take too!

I had a chance to play it today and I have to say, it is pretty incredible! Totally different feel than the '66. I found it a lot smoother and more sustain. Amazingly, it cleans up too with just an edge of hair on the signal. Another great build form the D*A*M lab!!!
how does it compare to a MKII? I've heard that it's less compressed, more open. Is it more raspy/buzzy in the top end? More bass? I'm still a relative newbie to fuzz only fuzzes that I've played are an MKII (Skinpimp), and a Ge Fuzzface (a not-so-working '69).

My old Distortion + used to get pretty fuzzy though, as well as some of the BJFE stuff I've had.
I would definitely agree that it's less compressed and more open sounding at lower settings, when you max out the attack knob though it compresses up. Definitely more bass in there too. Another tonal tidbit I found is that it retains pretty good string definition, even at the highest attack settings.

I have a little Hendrix passage I play as a sort of acid test to determine the amount of string definition. It uses some hammer-ons on the high E string and if I can hear the accents come through then it pretty much does it for me.

the 66 in super bee mode is the biggest of the all.. more low end, more anger, more gain... around half vid he goes thru all pedals quickly to hear differences.
Sound quality is not the best but gives you a damn good idea of the differences!
Wow, that was pretty great, thanks for posting that. I noticed he had some squealing with the '66 silicon (at least that's what it looked like) I had the same thing happen to me. I really loved the MK II and the Savage Henry. For me, they had a bit more of an open sound while still having a nice grind going on. I think the Telecaster is an acid test of a guitar for whatever you are testing out. It really lets you know what you have and there is no hiding behind anything. Thanks again!

yep the black 66 has that issue on the sustain... I tweaked the bias as dave told me to reduce it, so it's very minimal now.
The mkII was definitely more open, but both swan and I love the red 66! It's so raw and pissed off! Great for stoner riffs!!!
My fave dam so far! :crackjam:
infact swan bought a superbee the day after! :hihi:

This vid does no jsutice to Henry... maily because it doesnt belong there, and also for the licks played. Good pedal!

From this test I've realized how less gain the mkII circuit has overall... I never noticed it playing it on its own.
Asap I'll try to record a sola vs dam vid... oc84 vs oc81d!

Green Super Bee arrived today!

So good. Like a fuzz face with a bit more hair. Also, it's so smooth. :badlove:

It took a bit of time to get here and caused a bit of frustration as I was starting to think that it was hopelessly lost.

A big thanks to dave, linzi, and joe at V&R. :tu:

Took a couple very bad quick shots. Mine's #51. It has a duo of oc71's. I like the little purple fella on the back plate.

I hope you get one soon, smogfalls. I think it's destined to become a classic D*A*M stomp. :badteeth:
