I wonder if the missing parts from this pedal ended up in an early Octavia build...

It's funny that after all these years were still finding out about tones and equipment Hendrix used.
It was only until the release of the Miami pop footage that it finally settled debates on whether Jimi used the G12M 55hz speakers. Any pics were always surrounded with "it's probably Noels" or "yeah but you can't see his guitar cable go into the amp!"

I wonder what he would have used this on ?

Is there a DVD of Jimi Hendrix at the Miami Pop Festival?
Where is that footage?

It's on the bonus footage of "hear my train a comin"! Few other rare footage vids too from NYC pop too and peace festival.
He's using tall bottom pinstripe cabs with the G12H bass speakers in and running the G12m bass cabs ontop.

With Jimi, it could have been anything, or it may have never been used. The fact that the bottom of the enclosure is missing indicates it was probably used. The case bottoms were sometimes left off for easy battery changing in the studio. I have 4 EHX pedals sitting on the floor right now, bottoms removed, for the same reason.

Jimi supposedly had a Foxey Lady in 1968, although seeing now that this one is unbranded, it's probably not what was spotted in the studio. The guy probably had every new fuzz pedal out there. Manny's sold most of the fuzz boxes available, and they had everything EHX made.

And what sort of a tone did it produce? A fuzzy octave tone? Better for lead than rhythm maybe?

I have never played this version, but it is supposedly a slapped together FUZZ-rite clone. That's all Mike had time to get made, and only a few hundred of this version were produced before he had his own circuit created for his Guild branded 2-knob Foxey Lady and EHX Axis.
