wake up the next day to a refund and an email. he got suspicious because i paid extra so he looks on ebay and now thinks his wah is worth $900. he got the box back and says he will restore it and sell it “months from now”.

That's a crackpipe price. I had one very very similar to that and found it to be somewhat underwhelming. Could have just been the one I had?
