Sales Tax

Post by 1bottlerocket »

Hey Guys,
I just sold a pedal via Reverb to a buyer in Minnesota and Reverb leveled sales tax on the purchase. Has anyone had this happen? I got the extra cash in the payment but when do you have to fork it over and to whom?

The excess will be taken at month end from Reverb. No actions on your part

Extract -
Note for PayPal-only Sellers: If a buyer in a Marketplace Facilitator state purchases the order via PayPal, Reverb will supply you with the sales tax as a part of your payout. But you should hold on to that sales tax money, because at the end of the month, Reverb will charge you for the sales tax on your monthly statement so that we can remit the tax to the relevant state.

Being in Switzerland, don't you get taxed enough already?

Haven't sold anything since the change, but perhaps this may help you:

Reverb don't seem to be very good at communicating these things.

Thanks for the information, guys. I read the info from your links...Thanks! I can see all sorts of problems happening but you have to stay on the straight and narrow.
