It's not really wise to discuss the details on a public forum. Helping out Pedalpawn is one thing (and he's certainly following this thread!) but if the information gets out to the people actually making the fakes, it may become more difficult to spot them in the future. Yup. The sharing on public forums of every minute detail and quirk, no matter how esoteric, is why fake vintage Fender Strats are nearly indistinguishable from the real thing. Now that vintage fuzz is pulling several thousand in some cases, fakers have ample motivation to up their game.
