"I saw this exact pedal at Hank’s in London last July."
All that needs to be said, right there.
On the other hand, every now and then, Justin Harrison does end up with a genuine (and truly fucking impressive) vintage pedal at his shop.

Sure, he also had a load of stolen vintage guitars.

Presumably, because it would explain why this pedal is truly time-warp-clean. It's the only box for a Sola Sound pedal (pre-MKIII etc) that I've ever seen, but there's a photo (in BI, October 1968) of the Marshall booth at the 1968 British Musical Instruments Trade Fair, where we can see a Marshall-built Supa sitting on top of an identical box. I guess this suggests that the boxes might have been done by Marshall, rather than by Macari's (or by whoever was actually producing these things). I don't know the story of where Justin got this pedal from (nor to whom he sold it), so this is only speculation for now.

Crime pays and so do fuzz pedal collectors.

Posted 'This pedal is a fake' on their insta. Deleted.
Just another bunch of fuckers out to rip off and scam musicians.
His asking price on eBay/Reverb alone suggested that he was informed about his pedal after reaching out on Insta etc, and was fishing for a quick sale, because the legit MK1.5 that 'Pedalpawn' sold at some point last year was much more expensive (despite not being "custom-painted for a tradeshow", lol). Considering that he actually had the real thing at one point, I can't help but wonder: how on Earth could he possibly have been fooled by this pedal?
As soon as he listed it on eBay I messaged him and told him it was fake, that’s when he changed the price and reworded the listing, he took out the Hanks guitar shop bit, so he quite happily sold it knowing it was dodgy
Saying that has it deffo been sold? The listing ended on eBay but never said sold, did it sell on Reverb? I know when he tried to punt the Buzzaround that got relisted several times

I checked the Reverb listing and it indicated “sold” for 2,500 usd. I’ll try to get the link.

So, enlighten me- how do you guys know it’s a fake? I know the cb has some stuff that didn’t look original. But what were the giveaways? I’m always hesitant to pull the trigger on a vintage pedal, although I’ve long been looking for one
