Endtimes

Post by simonm »

Well, fuck! :headpop:
How is everyone doing in this mad international disaster? Not buying guns I hope. I’ve just ended some eeb/reev listings because I don’t wanna go to the post office. London is a ghost town. Today I wore a bandana as face mask like a western film bad guy on the tube and didn’t feel stupid like I did last week. I think I have job security, but the museum I work for has just shut down indefinitely and I’m working from home. What next? Everything just changed in 24 hrs here, and shit is real for sure. Will my Pigdog FZ-1 arrive on time?

Shit is scary. Boris is being a cunt as per

I’m keeping the kids off school even though they haven’t been shut, how can you ban mass gathering yet expect kids to go to a school with 800 other kids? My wife is able to work from home so can deal with them and that’s ok. I’m self employed and work in folks houses so fuck knows when that will stop

Take care people :tu:

Unfortunately, my wife just lost her job! (waitress) The restaurant that she works at is going to try to stay a float with take out and delivery...

We're now forced to wipe our ass with our hands since everyone has bought up all the tp! (Just kidding - still got a few rolls left. :tu: )

All the best to you guys and your loved ones!

Update: Scratch that, the restaurant has closed down. Also, our Province has been placed in a state of emergency status. :paranoid:
- Lots of closures and social distancing in place.

People were selling bog roll for twice usual prices on ebay last week, now there are loads of spoof listings - i like this 'refurbished' packet:

I'm a worrier with OCD, depression and anxiety so it has been really tiring keeping a positive face and pretending to be OK.
It feels good to be there for my 70 something and not all that healthy parents - although my main worry is if I get hospitalized who is going to help them.
I worry about what my dog will think if I can't be there for him. His dog food was the only thing I bought a lot of and I worry that in two months supply chain issues might keep me from getting his dog food. He doesn't adapt well.
I worry about all the musicians and restaurant workers who are out of work. If you can buy albums on bandcamp and gift certificates to your local restaurants, it helps.

It feels weird to make such a personal post here - I usually hit delete after I type something like this out, these are weird times. Everyone said 2020 was gonna be a fucked up year! Stay positive, be smart, stay strong! I love most of you people, haha!

^ I think its good to share personal feelings about this sort of stuff :tu:

I would also be interested in how different governments are dealing with it, the shitty information we are getting is ridiculous

We are not having any TP problems in Switzerland so if anyone in the EU needs a spare square send me a PM and we can work it out. Shipping from Switzerland will not be cheap but it is an option. Germany closed its borders with three countries so I am not able to ship from there.

My school shut down, as well as pretty much everything else, and it is damn weird not seeing anyone in the streets at the busiest times of the day. I have been delivering curriculum electronically and it is proving to be a lot to wrap my head around. Stay safe and healthy everyone!

It is scary shit indeed....finally it seems to be taken seriously here...apart from not closing schools.

On a personal level I work with the public, although maybe not for much longer till sport action resumes but folk like me are on the front line dealing with randoms coughing and spluttering everywhere, it might not be the virus but still at risk from picking anything up from these manky gits.

Now I have to try and stop my stubborn mum from going out....she’s over 70, survived cancer three times but there’s no way her immune system could beat this virus...so worrying times indeed....

I'm still getting my head around being at home all day every day for x weeks. My anxiety about the wider situation comes and goes. Will there be curfews /troops on the streets in a week's time like in France? I have asthma so I'm in the high risk group, which means more or less isolation, plus I'm autistic so a big unexpected change is making me crazy. My partner works from home too.

My mum has survived cancer three times too and is 83, but she's recovering from a hip replacement so she can't get out yet - weird to think of that as a positive! The schools thing is crazy though...

Hello from southern Italy. Me, my wife and my baby child (born on feb 28th) we're completely locked ad home - everything is frozen here in Italy, we're just waiting the disease to be limited, once for all. It's completely unreal, like living in an apocalyptical b-movie.

I just want to take the occasion to tell you - and please tell everyone - to take terribly seriously this epidemic: it is NOT just an aggressive pneumonia, we're having many hundreds of deaths every day, and even if the virus it's not extremely lethal per se, because of the necessity of intensive hospital care that the disease requires, it spreads quickly enough to numbers who can bring to collapse even a good health system, inducing doctors to choose who will live and who not.

I'm personally scared to death about the soft choices made by US and UK governments - I've even theorized that a wide spread of the disease, in the worst numbers imagined, would bring US and UK to a complete socio-economic short circuit, to the point of a definitive breakdown of their economic fundamentals. So please, be conscious everybody of what we're facing, and take all the care you can - money and business are renewable resources, life is not.

Take good care everyone... please stay safe and be prepared to stay strictly locked at home also for a month or two.
