Some of you have stuff up on bandcamp/spotify/apple music/anywhere else?
Got any tips for making music available online?
Is it a waste to put stuff on all of the platforms as no-one will buy it off bandcamp if they can stream for free on spotify?
Are there tools for uploading and tracking sales and stuff?
Do you just put links on your website?
Do you include a download QRcode with physical CDs?
Any info much appreciated.

I “release” music on bandcamp. I think it’s worthwhile. I’ve also made recordings available on streaming sites and itunes in the past. The majority of the money I’ve made has come from bandcamp sales in spite of offering all of my music for free download. Bandcamp tracks plays and sales.

Re: Putting your music online
Bandcamp is certainly the best format for actually making any revenue from your music. They will also host your physical sales. My thought is always to do an initial release on bandcamp first. And then a month or two down the road use a service like distrokid or cdbaby who will then put your album on all the streaming services (spotify, apple music, etc). At that point whoever cared enough to pay for your release already did on bandcamp and now you’re just getting it out there. Streaming is a pretty shitty situation revenue wise but an inevitable reality unfortunately.
