Football is a simple game. Twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win.

Wales outclassed, shame to see them out

Italy were fortunate, only came alive in extra time but it’s a sign of a good team when you win despite not playing at your full potential. They will need to be on their game for the next round

Find myself tuning out for it and not worrying that I'm missing games... Either this tournament is a bit boring or I've lost a bit of love for the ol' fitba.

I think this has been a pretty decent tournament, some great games/goals, tonight’s Spain game is a good example of that

Like I’ve said previously maybe the way it’s been ‘hosted’ has watered it down a bit, not got the same buzz in the host country, the lack of supporters at some games is an issue too

Tonight’s games have been great. The round of 16 so far has been great apart from watching Belgium vs Portugal.

Only a few mins left to go of extra time France vs Switzerland could go to pens. Best game so far.

I have never seen 9 penalties taken like that in a shoot out before

Absolutely banging game, Switzerland were outstanding
