Anta Booster - mid 70's soviet fuzz/booster

Post by Philip »

Just got this lil beasty!

Sounds like a cross between a treble booster with a primitive low gain fuzz thrown in for good measure. It would originally have been like the Kazan booster found in this blog...

...but, it's been altered so that it can work with a regular guitar lead etc, but I think it could do with a tidy up by Dave. :hihi:

Nice, I think I was watching or bidding on this one too...

I have some other of this series: Anita and Viola I think.

I have lots of Russian pedals (some of them even 3x :D), I just received a 2nd "Lider 2" :D

Hey Phil (and Bart) take your iodine pills make sure you are wearing your lead lined inner soles when using some of that Rusky stuff -

Atomic toebreakers for sure but the one or two of the old "former iron curtain country" pedals I tried generally sounded great - although I seem to recall having problems plugging into their crazy soviet sockets!! Monster retro looks though - none of that pansy colorsound or dharma vibe!! :smashed:

You have to be careful with adapter plugs for those sockets, some of those pedals could also be powered through those DIN plugs and some adapter plugs create a short when you use a battery (experience expert )

The Soviet fuzz-wahs are often great, they often have a very brutal fuzz and the wah is more like a fat moog filter :)
