Yeah, there's some honeys on stage, huh?!!

David "Screaming Lord" Sutch released his first single in 1961, it was him doing the song above, "Til The Following Night" with a young Ritchie Blackmore on guitar, produced by the infamous Joe Meek. Sutch was probably most known for the song, "Jack The Ripper, his signature tune & basis for his wild onstage persona. Also of note (on the subject of fuzz) is Jeff Beck's session work on the songs, Dracula's Daughter & Come Back Baby (1964). sounds to me like he used a Maestro FZ-1 which would be the only fuzz commercially available at that time.

Obviously inspired by Screamin' Jay Hawkins (who entered the stage in a coffin, in the 50's -- I Put A Spell On You -- CLASSIC song...Sutch pre-saged the glam, metal & monster themed musical genres by many years, but clearly influenced them.

That 1972 concert film at Wembley Stadium is pretty fantastic.

There's performances by Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Bill Haley, & Jerry Lee Lewis.
You can find the dvd pretty cheap, called The London Rock and Roll Show (1973). It's pretty amusing
to see 1972 Teddy Boys with long hair (British rockabilly greasers).

A lot of Zeppelin fans don't even know about the Heavy Friends album, which features a group of all-stars including
Jimmy P. (who co-wrote & produced a lot of the tracks), Bonham, Jeff Beck, Noel Redding, Nicky Hopkins & more...

Any Jimmy Page fans that don't have the Sutch double LP, "Lord Sutch & Heavy Friends" needs to download this. (1970)...
Sounds like the same rig/recording equipt. as Zep II...(mobile unit?) Bonham's on there (not John Paul Jones), Jeff Beck, Ritchie Blackmore, Keith Moon, Noel Redding, Nicky Hopkins etc...

(Flashing Lights, Thumping Beat, Wailing Sounds (which sounds a lot like Lemon Song guitar parts) etc...)

Entire double LP + art work + Hands Of Jack The Ripper (live LP, '72)...Good shit!!

Download it here:

http://rapidlibrary.com/index.php?q=scr ... lord+sutch

Go for the two near the bottom (Parts 1 & 2)...

And if anybody knows how to, there's a required password or code for the others above it.
--after you DL, you are asked for a password)...I would *really* like to get those...
(Screaming Lord Sutch Story has most of his early 60's stuff)...

please let me know if you know how to get thru that.
