Identify the african FUZZZZZZ....
I just found this list of songs with fuzz sound inside, because I was looking for some infos about a track I heard yesterday in Jim Jarmusch's "Broken Flowers" movie.
The track is "Yekermo Sew" by Mulatu Astatke
and here's the link with the list of fuzzed songs!!!

You are the experts, I'm just here to learn somethin'
Thanks!

Cool tune. Sounds like Horace Silver's Song For My Father.
The fuzz – no idea, but I likes it.

That Band has an incredible Grooves. The Original Album where this song comes from is great too. Awesome Organ sounds!
No idea on The fuzz, though.

I think it may be some old Japanese clone...for example Ibanez Wau Fuzz ?
My 60-s Companion FY-2 sounds similar but not exactly.
Band sounds nice

Yep, great album! I'm a big fan of whole Ethiopiques series.

That's awesome! Certainly sounds like some sort of buzzy Japanese style fuzz. I'd imagine it's whatever could be cheaply procured locally.

Re: Identify the african FUZZZZZZ....
Ethiopiques box set can be found and downloaded pretty easily online -- I think they're past 14 volumes now. I was obsessed back in 2009.. I think my neighbors thought I was a terrorist or something. As for the fuzz... I have no idea how they even got Rhodes or wurlis or anything else over there at the time, so the appearance of fuzz is even more surprising. Possibly a homebrew a la Os Mutantes? Kinda has that octavia thing going a bit too. There's very little fuzz on any of the other songs on the other volumes, and virtually zero studio photos or info.. so who knows? (which I think was your original question that I just realized I totally did not help answer)
