THE SPINE OF GOD!
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far.

My fave MKI clips from "Having A Rave Up With The Yardbirds" (german release w/bonus tracks)
Jeff's Blues Pt.1
Someone To Love Pt.2
Chris' Number
great songs to listen to if you want to hear some raw "I think it came free in a box of breakfast flakes" tonebender MKI bliss

... with the tapping frenzy in a growing sea of reverberation?!!
...one of the holiest!!
There's a religious holiday surrounding that one
here in Fuzzville...
all we eat is corn flakes for a week (in hopes of finding a free Mk1 in the box)

Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy) - Brian Eno
2nd solo album, pre-ambient stuff.
Some truly wicked, flipped-out lead guitar work by Phil Manzanera.
Sounds like he had a Buzzaround of his own! (and Tone Benders as well)...
had this LP in High School about 25 years ago...
rediscovering it lately...still sounds fresh!

It was pretty awesome. They lived up to their reputation of being exceptionally loud. The guitars sounded great, though. Kevin had an arsenal of boutique amps (I definitely saw some Divided By 13 amps) and I've read that he uses 30 pedals live. Excellent tones. The vocals were slightly buried, but that's how their records sound, too. The ended with a 17 minute white noise freakout that I could feel in my bones. Highly recommended!jimi_dylan wrote:What?!!! I would love to hear about that. Feel free to PM me or start a thread. I bet their fuzz was brutally loud.TheWarmth wrote:Still buzzing off of this weekend's My Bloody Valentine gig. Fucking insane!

The latest albums on the playlist:
The Lamp of Thoth - Portents, Omens & Dooms (2008) - Absolute fucking classic, old school mix of NWOBHM & Doom, with some killer guitar work and possibly one of the best recorded guitar tones I've heard in a long time! Great live band too.
Leather Nun America - Absence of Light (2008) - Yet more Obsessed style doom-flavoured rock-outs from this Californian power trio.
Unorthodox - Awaken (2008) - Finally, the legendary Maryland band have got themselves another deal, and after something like a 15 year hiatus, they've returned with another classic slab of pure old school, Maryland doom.
Wall of Sleep - ...And Hell Followed With Him (2008) - The third album for this Hungarian band, featuring former members of Mood, taking their Trouble influenced metal to another level. Some great twin guitar work on this album too.
SerpentCult - Trident Nor Fire EP (2008) - This Belgian band pummel your eardrums.
Ufomammut - Idolum (2008) - More space(d) rock meanderings from these Italian loons. You want heavyness with your Hawkwind? Check out Ufomammut. If you think Italian rock/metal is cheesy, you obviously haven't heard Ufomammut (or Paul Chain/DeathSS).

Rehearsal recording of new Grimpen Mire stuff, Witchsorrow tape (cool SG into a Laney Klipp guitar tones) & a band from Newcastle called Michael Flatley's Knife Fight. Good name, not so good music.
