RIP Scott Walker

One of the last true outsider geniuses. Gutted I'll never get the chance to be wooed and chilled by his voice in a new song again

Has anyone seen an Englishman called Gavin?

Dang. R.I.P.
His Jacques Brel covers are some of the craziest and coolest songs ever.

RIP Scott. I either loved his stuff or it was too much for me. Years ago, I was in a band that covered 30th Century Man with our own rather Brianjonestown Massacre arrangement. I loved playing that song. A true outsider with his own voice. A true artist with a unique presence and gift. I am glad he was out there. He challenged me.
He will be missed.

Scott Walker and now Ranking Roger. This week can fuck right off.

We need to get Mick and Keef in protective custody.

I was thrilled to be at Scott’s last ‘performance’ Drifting and Tilting at the Barbican back in 2008. He sat at the back manning the mixing desk sporting his trademark cap- got to say hi and thanks to him which was a great honour. Although later on whilst drinking a bottle of champagne with my dear friend Jennifer we were approached by Jarvis Cocker who we rudely ignored as we were too drunk to remember his name.
