Treble boosters vs Rat vs Overdrivers vs Colorboost
Hey Folks, wondering if y'all had the chance to compare this? I was wondering how do Proco rats compared to like the captain's red rooster/supa rooster? Are power boosters/overdrivers closer to fuzz than distortion? Again looking to boost mids and cut bass but still want to palm mute. I run my marshall 6ish with all else cranked and bass off

A rat and a treble booster are two very, very different things.

The Red Rooster is absolutely perfect for that.

I figured with the gain down low, and depending with the filter position. The rat could sound like a treble boosterredeyeflight wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 8:44 pm A rat and a treble booster are two very, very different things.

The Rat is a very versatile pedal, and you get it to go from almost a light overdrive to almost a fuzz, but it's basically a distortion pedal (and a damn fine one). A treble booster is very different, and I still think there's only one way to properly use one: turn your amp up close to its breaking point, set the treble boost on full, hit the strings and enjoy what it does to your amp. If you want a little more subtlety, roll off some of the volume on your guitar, but pedals are never about subtlety for me.
