mutant '54 blacktop LP style:
Musoo (Chinese) custom kit with semi-hollow body and big neck, took forever for them to make it but it eventually arrived end of Jan, just before Corona got serious. Not perfect (pickup routes too big, wtf), but the important things (neck + weight) were good, and I was sick of waiting, so I accepted it as delivered. I got this one to replace the older heavier one behind it. Pickups are now out of phase and it has a Freeway 6-way switch, for series/parallel switching and Esquire 'Eldred mod'-style cap option on the bridge pickup - a '50s Kay kleenex box unit in a dogear P90 cover. The neck pickup is a '50s wind Lollar which was a bit bright, so put a nickel cover on it - much better (might spray the cover black? dunno). The wraparound is an orig '53-4 'thin ear' type.
Anyway it sounds great and weighs about 6 pounds. Happy!
a slightly odd top carve, no? [edit it is symmetrical, just looks off in this light] is this typical of any particular period? don't know much about LPs apart from Juniors
