Re: those new orange stomps...
I loved the Phaser. From what I understand they had actual examples of the Sustain and the Phaser, but NOT the Distortion. It was supposedly based off an old schematic they had in their records but then modded it a bit. It sounded good actually (as you can hear in this video). The Sustain was well, a Sustain. haha
I also asked about the connection to both Dharma Sound and/or Colorsound, but was told that the originals were not built by/for either brand, and the similarities are merely coincidence.
so who knows! but yeah, I liked them for sure.//

The Distortion sounds really good too... will probably have to check that one out.
As for the Sustain? I just don't "get" compressors on guitar (never have) so I'mma leave that one to better players than me...

what i took from the sustain part of that vid was it's a pretty decent clean boost, isnt it?
total nooob when it comes to sustain pedals. unless it's a sustain knob on a buzzaround or big muff lol
regardless, i'm going for the holy trinity when christmas bonus time comes around... if christmas bonus time comes around this year

They look great to me because they're plain and Orange-y, but the blue LED thing is no bueno, imo. They sound good as well but nothing "holyshit" about them to my ears. Show me some guts....if they're built proper they're cool. If they're built shit, well...

Re: those new orange stomps...
Silly of them to deny the Dharma Sound connection as it's clear from gut shots of the Orange originals they are the same as DS. The new Phazer sounds similar to the DS, but the new Distortion is pretty generic sounding, it's a shame they couldn't scare up an original because it's v different to a standard op-amp distortion. Blue LEDs seems an odd choice when orange would be the obvious one...edkoppel wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 3:24 pm From what I understand they had actual examples of the Sustain and the Phaser, but NOT the Distortion. Re: those new orange stomps...
haha - I just noticed they changed the name of the new phaser from Phazer (the Brit spelling) to the Phaser (US spelling)!
story from 2020: “Mick Dines, who has been with the company since the early ‘70s, found the original, tea-stained schematics for the Phazer, Sustain and Distortion pedals and passed those onto current designer Ade Emsley. However Orange have not been able to find the actual physical pedals and need help to get these reissues right.”
