Re: MKII pr0n
Thanks for the info! My new MkII is very cool. I’m using through a late 90s AC30/6 TBX and a Metroamp 12,000 series Super Lead clone. The amp volume and pedal settings are very interactive and there’s always a sweet musical underpinning no matter where the MkII is set, that is missing from any other non-Sola/DAM Tonebender types I’ve tried.

Long time Sola / DAM fiend, first time poster!
Also got my first MKII finally this summer! I *THINK* this is a one off? Very different than the others I see here. When my name came up I asked Ant if he had anything in the OC82### realm come in, and he told me he had 1 of these if I wanted it...
Well YEAH of course I wanted it. I am not wise enough to understand what magical intention lies behind such a combination of transistors, but I do know it is MAGICAL.
Playing against one of the recent OC73's, this one is less hot, cleans up more, slightly more silent noise floor, a tad darker but lots of mids. The OC73 is brighter and more stinging (but still does clean up quite nice, just not as quickly as the OC8## combo pictures here.
HUGE fan!!!
Oh yeah - and this one is VERY close to 1000. I've had it for about a month so I'm guessing 1000 is kicking around out there?

Welcome to the forum Atlas
That’s a great first post! Killer looking MKII
What’s your preferred set up (guitar and amp) when using that bad boy?

My "holy trinity" of gear is a Les Paul > Tone Bender > Carr amps. I have a bunch of Carr's but I usually use the Mercury V these days. For a more compressed / pushed rubbery sound I like pushing it through a Skylark too. I have been known to play a Tele with it from time to time.
Prior to the MKII acquired above I've been collecting a bunch of the "daughter series" pedals as they were coming out, as well as some other big enclosure fuzzes in the pic here:
Those 2 hybrid MKII's in the middle are absolutely amazing! I'm happy to finally have the real big boy Pro MKII but one thing I felt pretty instantly is they really hold their own and sit on the same shelf!
I will say though that with this most recent MKII, It's finally scratched a 30 year itch to just NAIL those early Zep sounds. It's is, incredibly satisfying.

Awesome line up
I’ll get round to trying a hybrid MKII one of these days
I think it was the search of Zep tones that brought me round these parts too

I think a ton of us were led here by the Zep.innerflight wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2024 10:04 am Awesome line up

These hybrids are pretty frickin special TBH. The one with the light grey lettering has 2 green jacket OC82D's in it. It's a bit dark but so chewy and honestly absolutely nails the early Zep stuff.
I've been putting them up against the big boy Pro MKII and there's for sure differences but I'm not sure they're more noticeable than the differences you'd hear from one MKII pedal to another.
I am starting up a fuzz demo channel though and one of the first ones I'm excited about is doing a comparison video between the hybrids and regular one!

Re: MKII pr0n
This one suits my ear the best of all the ones I have had.
The OC73 has a flavor suited for me my ear.
This one has a terrible story but Ant stepped up proving to be a First Class act of the finest example.
I was very impressed.
