I think you can get it there with stock pickups, I love Super Distortions.
Check out the wiring diagram for Fender Cobain Jaguar, those sound very good for a Super Distortion and pretty bright.

Totally forgot to update this. No new pickups. All new wiring. Did it up like a 58 Gibson explorer. Treble bleeds on both volumes. Holy wow did this pull the down comforter off this guitar. It’s absolutely perfect!!! Yaaay cheap fixes and soldering fumes
