in laymans terms...
what is the difference between a fuzzsound MKIII and a super bee? i really wanted a fuzzsound but the clips of the superbee are fantastic and i dont know if the sound lists are ever gunna open up again.
from what i understand the superbee is (kind of) an earlier tonebender and the fuzzsound is a later smoother 70's ish thing. i guess my question is, can the superbee "smooth out" at all and do that kind of sound at all or is it just not in it?
a compare and contrast from someone who auctually knows what there talking about would be rad.. thanks -john

When you have to basically crank the pedal to full volume to reach unity gain with your clean signal.stopmaykinsense wrote:What exactly do you mean by "dialing out" at "unity"? Forgive my ignorance of terminology....

Damn! The super bee sounds awesome except for the unity gain at full tilt... I could foresee that being a problem in a band situation...

I'd like to help out by complicating things. Most important of all is that anything you get that's made by The Captain or Ms. Dirt is going to be great, so you really can't make a wrong choice. This is especially true considering what you're considering. Another important consideration is the highly interactive nature of these fuzzes. They can sound radically different depending on which amp you're using and if an amp without a master volume the fuzz will be less compressed with a lot more output as well. Best thing to do is compare Philip's sound clips on the D*A*M home page & pick the fuzz that best suits you.

The Super Bee slays both at home and in band situations.
The Fuzz Sound is like the best of D*A*M in one pedal. Amazing piece of work!

Thanks for the descriptions Sickle. I run smaller amps like the Swart AST PRO and it looks like the Super Bee is the way to go. Fortunately for everyone around here it wont be for a year due to my sons schooling expense. ie I got no cash flow.

So how does one get a FUZZ SOUND pedal anyway? i missed getting my name on a list. Will Dave sell these through the Vintage and Rare Guitars store or can you only get this pedal through Dave (and DAM Direct)?

I have approx 120 units on order though I doubt all of these orders will come into fruition. I'll decide the plan of action once I have these under my belt...flupe007 wrote:So how does one get a FUZZ SOUND pedal anyway? i missed getting my name on a list.
