Yes the Vox is solid state. It does a nice saturated distortion. You can use it to overdrive your head, it has a built in treble booster. It has a headphone out and a direct out. It is loud as hell for a little 10 watt RMS amp. I really like this for what it is.

Yarp, tis a Colorsound...maybe late 70's early 80's as its the inductor-less type...designed by Dick Denney so the story goes. CS banged more of those out with the B&M sticker on (Barnes and Mullins) but I've seen em stickered as CS models too. But fear not Jim its Colorsound all the way
Nice one.
I spent some time cleaning it up yesterday & after a little switch cleaner on the input & pot and some WD40 on the treadle it works like a dream. Looks like there was an external power supply connected & then removed again at some point. I was jammin til 3am cos I'm loving that BWAAHP BWAAHP tone so much. I'm gonna do a comparison with my Crybaby & put it on the soundclips page in the next day or 2.

I think you will be happy with it.

I like mine, thou I over paid for it, but still I am not regretting the choice.
I will buy another if I spot one with Fair pice tag.

This is what I bought today... from a Guitar center...

I went in there so I could try out the used Ibanez ICEMAN.

they had it for $450.00. I just wanted to feel it and hear it.
not in a greatest of shape, but I just wanted to try it out..
it did not weigh heavy as I thought, and it felt good.
Neck/action felt good to me as well.
AND the Iceman sounded great though Fender RI Champ.

:hmm: Then I walked out with Champ... :smashed:

Red and Sonik are doing fine with Champ so far.

The $300 was Canadian too, including shipping and tax, so I'm rationalising it that way. it was closer to $250US shipped. I really want a triangle, but no way can I afford one. Kicking myself over the one that went a few weeks ago for 150 on the evilbay. That would have been a score.

The BeeBaa arrived today. Ungodly bass heavy wall of fucking noise. It had been converted to run off a transformer, which worried me as the ebay description said 12v? but its just a 9v supply. I've been drooling over clips of this thing for the last two years and its everything I thought it would be.... totally badass.

I also scored an unbranded Wau Wau.

which has me GASing for a real Superfuzz. I'm pretty set for scooped silicon madness though. ha!

My recent purchases include a 90's reissue Colorsound Power Boost (3 knob) for £50. And when they named this pedal they perhaps didn't emphasize the power of the boost enough!

And also this JHS wah wah for only £25. This is made in Italy and looks to be just a re-badged Jen Wah. Not sure when it's from (mid/late 70s or early 80s?) but it has a red fasel inductor.

circuit looks identical to this:
