Hey, I received word back a couple days after sending payment. The Captain mentions that he wanted this last batch of MKII's to have their own thing going on and that he decided to opt for AC125's.

"I opted to use AC125’s for these final MKII’s. No it doesn’t have the mojo of say the OC81D but what it does have is an impressive sonic performance and the ability to deliver a dynamic and rich fuzz tone with a minimal signal to noise ratio. These devices were carefully selected to create the exact tonal character and break-up of a prime example of an original Sola Sound made unit. I also wanted these to final D*A*M MKII's to have there own thing going on. I'm really chuffed with the results. I hope you good folk are too."

I am psyched to have one of Dave’s Tone Benders coming my way. I thought we might be seeing OC81’s but after reading around a bit, AC125’s sound pretty cool.

Apparently they are a bit on the warmer side (more gain); one person mentions additional cunt hair, with round peachy bottom.

So, hey, how will these AC125's react with ever-so-slightly-hotter-pickups?
if 125 have little more gain and are close to 124 . . .
i have one of the high gain MKII from last year. my favrite MKII of all that I ve tried.
YES !! it got extra fuzzy hair compaired to OC75 or 84.
and I think it does prettiy good with hotter pick up.

Like JP, I got one of the High Gain MkII's from last year (there were only 2 weren't there?), and it does sound excellent, angry, fuzzy goodness. :wink2:

Didn't get chance to try it out at practice, had too much stuff to carry

But i tried it out through my little valve amp at home for a couple of minutes. Sounds great, higher gain than my SS/D*A*M MKII and it's got a really nice sound to the treble, quite cutting but really sweet and not at all harsh, i'm looking forward to trying it out in a band situation. As always immaculate inside and out, it's great to see the Tone Bender name on a D*A*M pedal as well in that groovy font

When i get chance it will be good to compare it to the SS/D*A*M MKII, side by side, i suppose they are kind of the two extremes of the MKII circuit and show the possibilities of this pedal in the hands of a great builder.

Clips please! I'm completely content with the Captain's recipe. Still gotta hear the 125's!

Are the lists all out and done now? Good luck to those that scored!
