Try a fresh battery (around 10V). I found that this makes them sound less farty when it's hot.

MK1.5s are biased really hot. In the heat they are really prone to gating and fartiness. Arbiter biased the Fuzz Face a tad colder - it's the only significant modification they did to the MK1.5 circuit. Also the transistors varied a lot and some do bias fairly cold.
