btw, just pointing out that in the clips I did, I had the amp set with a fairly neutral EQ, I find that starting out with a slightly darker tone, then adding the Rooster on full treble boost mode gets the best results.

So I finally found the beauty of the Red Rooster within my own rig. I finally have a solo boost/treble booster for when I want to use my 2nd channel (which is tweed and has a mid-bite crunch to it) as rhythm or exclusively on a song. The amazing thing about this is that it really makes the sound cut through and really clears up the muddiness and unfocused sound from the amp. Where my ODs and other fuzzes would create unpleasant clipping and palm-like thickness, the Red Rooster shines in this part of my amp.

As for the clean, black face first channel, I have yet to experiment with the Red Rooster with the rest of my pedals. I have enough variety in dirt that the Red Rooster can be that exclusive assassin in the 2nd channel.

Everything is fine, thanks for chiming in everyone. I never knew how complex this pedal was and finding it's sweet spot in a rig was key to elevating this to a "never-sell" rank.

Need some help Donovan and Dave and fellow Roosters,

Does your Rooster store a charge and causes a popping noise until you stomp the switch several times? I know this is normal for some pedals, I was just wondering.

Thanks in advance.

It definitely does drain the charge after a couple of stomps. But I guess, I am wondering if 1) that is normal (you are indicating your Red Rooster does not do it) and 2) is there an easy fix for it to stop storing and draining.

Thanks Donovan!

I've had many pedals do that but only in some rigs. For example my ehx DMM used to do it when I played in the reharsal room but not at home.
Probably it's got to do with the way you power stuff ? Try maybe changing your rig or guitar just to test? I know this is stupid but sometimes it's a solution.

Dave has said previously that the popping sound is due to there being a led light.

My Rooster also does this, it's normal, maybe due to the way the circuit is made with the blendable input capacitors? I always used to stomp mine a few times before a gig or rehearsal to lessen the pop.
