The Calico Wall - "I'm A Living Sickness" (1967)
(i love listening to this on my headphones while riding the light rail to work -
it makes me feel like I'm in one of those nihilistic end-of-mankind, early 70's films -
... soylent green, omegaman, logan's run, westworld, et al)

Pretty sure this is a FZ-1 -- no idea what Janis did to get that amazing voice though. Put that in a pedal and I'd buy it.

wow, great version of Summertime...
I've never really gotten into JJ before, but I do like that Baroque Telecaster thing
and she sings that one really well...nice n smokey.
Here's some more clobberin' teenage garage fuzz c.66
The Cavemen - It's Trash!

Re:
Haha. No kiddin! These kids were obviously Yardbirds/Beck fanatics...mjab-1 wrote:I wonder what Beck did when he heard those Del-Vetts and Count Five songs.
He seems like a pretty cool about stuff like that...And a true music lover, so maybe he took it as a compliment.
I know Hendrix wanted to meet Jeff upon going to London for the first time. (Jimi was nobody yet, Jeff was pretty well known)....and JH told JB that he nicked a lick from Happenings Ten Years Time Ago (beginning of solo lick, i think)
Re; Psychotic Reaction (Count Five) & Last Time Around (Del Vettes) --
-- In retrospect it didn't really hurt his reputation as those are both ace songs/recordings.
So, anybody with any taste in that genre will know that he was the composer of those solo's anyway...
Even old Pagey played Jeff's solo's after he'd gone!
More Maestro Fuzz Tone!
Larry & The Blue Notes - In and Out
It's a classic 60's garage sound: Maestro Fuzz Tone with Farfisa or Vox organ
