Oh man, it has landed and oh boy, the Captain has delivered. He ordered using it alone but I have to confess…I enjoyed it together with a cold one…

I’m sure the Captain would approve of that pairing

n.b. despite the form factor and the word “sustainer” this clearly isn’t a Muff. Reminds me a little more of a Meathead — in terms of the brutal midrange — but it clearly isn’t that either. Like, a Muff obviously has the famous mid scoop, and a Meathead sounds much thicker in the low mids but when you play high notes it sounds like there’s a notch somewhere that gives it a cool liquidy sound. The Asmodeus kinda… doesn’t sound like it has notches anywhere. Brutality at every frequency, no escape. At least those are my first impressions playing at low volume. Will have to crank it tomorrow. (and then I’ll turn on my amp and play some guitar har har har)

Quick clip for the curious, didn’t have time to tweak knobs but this pretty much gives you the idea of its basic voice as compared to a Muff with knobs at noon. Strat bridge into a clean amp.
I don’t know how much it comes across in the video, but the experience of hearing this in the room at moderately loud volume goes something like: *turn on Dope Priest* “god damn this thing sounds huge” *switch to Asmodeus* “AH FUCK! MY EARS!”
