I found a black RR-09 for sale and was surprised to see that it has a CV7004 tranny.
I thought these had only OC72's. How do they compare tone-wise?
Thank you!

Here's some info from Captain about CV7004:
and here's about AC128:The Captain wrote: Purple 'n' blue chicks ....the purple is a hair brighter in the flesh but sunshine ain't so shiny today. CV7004 in the belly. Fresh and clean, not as midrange focused as the recent AC128 Roosters. A little more old school chime than a tubby growl.
The Captain wrote:The mighty Magnatec AC128. Same as before. Low noise, hair and teeth with assassin like precision...and made just down the road in Leicestershire nonetheless

If I'm not mistaken, the CV7004 is a mil spec OC45. I've never owned a CV7004 loaded Rooster but I have owned CV7355, OC71, and OC45 Roosters. The CV7355 was a little more modern sounding than the other two and had less background noise. The OC71 and OC45 were pretty damn close to one another. I think that the OC71 had a little bit more vintage mojo going for it but was also a bit noisier than the OC45 (still not too noticeable)...could just be due to slight variances in build, biasing, etc. I definitely liked the OC71 the best but the OC45 was a VERY close second. If the CV7004/OC45 equivalence is any barometer, I would not hesitate at scooping one up.

In the vid above the roosters are from L to R, OC140, orange jacket OC45, and AC128, the original rangie has a yellow jacket OC44 ......
