I got my eyeballs on this. Can anyone tell me if this is all original or what's in it?

It's an Italian Tonebender, kinda' like the 1966.
Looks pretty kosher to me, but let's see what the experts think.

What gets me is all the tweaking,
just crank that bitch and be done with it! -- duende

Re: Vox Tonebender Fuzz
I'm no expert, but i think cubba nailed it:
...Italian 'Bender c.'67-69 ("Vox" logo above controls)
before they decided to "paint it black" with a white logo plaque...
Roughly, the circuit looks correct to me from that photo...
Looks like/should be: germaniums...SFT 363 and SFT 337...izzat right?
...although it's not a very close-up shot.
looks like some oxidation on the jacks, but not bad...
i have one that's battle-scarred, but it's fuzzier than my earlier one with "Vox" logo below controls.
Looks like a pretty nice one, good luck.

Re: Vox Tonebender Fuzz
What those guys said
Davy is bang on the mark with the transistors. Closer to 68-69 due to the later face plate.
Nice example though. Maybe the output jack is a replacement?!?! No big deal either way.
Looks all minty inside except for that.
Say £250 or so if yer lucky...£300 + on a good day.

Thanks boyz for the info...
The price is a little rich for my blood (450CDN), but I put in a small offer anyways. I don't think he'll bite.

Re: Vox Tonebender Fuzz
I have put some pics onto photobucket - and plan some major postings - amongst them are a particularly nice sounding one of these grey voxes - check the pics in the pedalporn area - my one is all but identical although I had it from a friendly British collector he had recently sent it over to the states to have it checked over by Howard Davies - I think it sounds superb for a two tranny tonebender - I have a few other examples of these 2 tranny italian voxes and this is the nicest to my tastes
more pics on the other posting - I'd say go for it - it appears to be cleaner than mine and I think these earlier grey models are not as frequently found as the later black bodied versions - as the Sola made tonebenders become so scarce and pricey the collectors will turn instead to the earliest of the italian voxes so they ought to hold thir value at the least - PLUS they sound superb when properly set up!! A DAM 66 gives most of what youll get but when I compare them to the grey vox - the vox has a little more low end grunt and sustain - sure it does gate a bit more but you can dial that out if it bothers you!
Hope this helps!

Re: Vox Tonebender Fuzz
Just when I thought I forgot about the pedal, Graham talks me back into trying to get it again.
I'll see if he'll bite on a trade/cash thingy...the good news...it's still for sale.
