Why do none of my other umpteen fuzzes sound like the 1966?

I think the 2-transistor Tonebender circuit is overlooked and rather unknown in general.

Not if you read my posts here at the DAM Forum.Cado wrote:All I know is that the 1966 deserves a lot more praise. It seems to be in the shadow of the MKII.
The 1966 was my very first DAM pedal, got it from Mr Gary Rogue and still have it(thanks again Gary)!
I've always mentioned the 1966 as one of my all time favorite fuzz pedal ... and that include my old vintage pedals.
I love the MK-IIs too, but the 1966 just make my day a bit fuzzier.

1966 was one of my first D*A*M pedal, and it is the sound of D*A*M for me.

The '66 was my first D*A*M pedal, as well and it has only got worse from there... the '66 is great pedal and I love it, so much so, that I have three versions. Since pickup up a MK II, I find that this is the only pedal that can stand up to it.
Lately, I have been running my Analogman Sun Face and adjusting the sun dial and I find this can hang with the two aforementioned D*A*M pedals but right now, nothing tops the MK II and I plan to get a few more in the future if the chance arrives. Having said that, I haven't tried the Fuzz Sound yet and that may all change.
