MKI Supa Fuzz & Grey Vox wah replica clips
Ok, Stu made me a sweet grey Vox wah replica. Luckily for me I managed to score an original british made volume pedal which has the exact same housing as the wah's did so this is what was used to house stu's build.
Right sound, right look and for a whole lot less than the originals go for!
More info on the grey Vox wah's here:

Along with that he included a quickly put together MKI Marshall Supa Fuzz replica for me to try out. This is the very rare first version of the supa fuzz with a more MKI like circuit, pre set gain, volume and crude filter/tone control. Ferkin' ace fuzz tone!!!

Here's what the replica supa fuzz sounds like...

I used the wah for the last part of that clip, but it was placed after the fuzz in order to replicate Jeff Beck's tone on the demo version of You Shook Me found on the Truth remaster.
The wah on it's own sounds best in to my amp cranked up, I'll need to have the house to myself to do that so there's better wah clips to follow when I get the chance!

That Page/Yardbirds part sounds right on! Crazy! Wah sounds killer straight into the amp.

The fuzz sounds like that straight outta the box!Sauniere wrote:That Page/Yardbirds part sounds right on! Crazy! Wah sounds killer straight into the amp.
Turn on, Plug in, fuzz out!
Tis a quirky wah, but it suits my amps and my style to a tee!

Can't get enough of that clip! How does it compare to the '65/MKI? I take it it's more refined and not as chaotic? All these circuit variations gives me a headache.

Yeah it seems to be less chaotic, the filter control is a great addition and makes for a more versatile pedal.
My experience of MKI's is that essentially there's one sweet spot, so it kinda makes sense to have the gain pre set to that sweet spot and use the free'd up knob for a filter/tone control.

Love diz fuzz...
I played fuzz lead guitar on top of a Yardbirds outtake. Going for that page - little games sound which I simply cannot get enough of!
