Basic Audio "Gnarly FuZz"

Post by John Lyons »

.
Hey there.
I cobbled up this "Gnarly Fuzz" a couple days ago.
Custom brown/bronze hammertone and fender style cupcake knobs,
Orange LED

It's a cross between a Maestro FZ1 and Orpheum/FY-2 type
sounding box. The fuzz knob pans through a few different textures.
At full counter clockwise is a lighter yet cutting fuzz. At full clockwise
the fuzz is compressed and ripping although with a good bit of clarity
and definition. In between settings are a mix of slight octave up and
a blend between fuzz and boosted overdrive distortion fuzz blending between
the two settings above. Plenty of volume on tap.

Gets that Stooges fuzzrite octavish sound and then a few other variations.

Sound clips to come soon.

$150 shipped (US)

Looks awesome, John! Super clean, inside and out.

If I didn't need a pair of speakers really bad, I'd be all over this.

It sure does!!
If I wasn't going on holiday next week I'd be sorely tempted!

Yeah, I think it sounds awesome, I've just stopped looking at this thread due to budget issues.
If I win some money on a scratch ticket today I'm all over it. :badteeth:
It looks like something I might try to eat when I'm broke.

John always turns out SUCH cool stuff! He sent this to me to check out and he may never get it back :hihi:

The pedal sounds like a MKI and an MKII got it on and had a gnarly kid :crackjam:

Sounds really good. I'm especially liking how well it has that gated sound and yet it doesn't get all weird and funky with the volume rolled back. Can't say I've heard many pedals do that. :crackjam:
