Received this thing a few days back...
NOS, in the box, still had the original battery in it.
Really pretty silver hammerite case.
$12.95!
:smashed:

By the looks of the guts, i figured it was more like a Sekova than a Shin-Ei
but i plugged her in and A/B'd her with a few others and it sounds more old-school
fuzz, with bright top end, not a lot of bottom (which i really dig)...similar to
a Maestro FZ-1 or 1A with a little less gusto...not as wild & loose....

very much my style...a keeper! :tu:

just kidding, Jack...it was not $12.95....that was just the original price... :wink2:

Humm.... That seems like NOT my kinda fuzz, FZ-1a that I sold to your nighbor was bright and thin. I better stick with 1966. and keep look out for VoX TB. There is one on the Ebay now for $600... :smashed:
I missed that Gary H. reissue on the Ebay that I was looking at last week. ended at $450 ish.. I should have jumped on it.

Oh my God! That's that one you scored the other week? I didn't realize it was so mint. Now I sorta wish I had entered the ring for it. Oh well, couldn't go to a nicer guy. I still gotta get your Maestro back, are you sticking around town for Thanksgiving?

I have one too, and it looks quite different inside. Let me find some shots...

Mine also smells like grandpa's attic. That mojo is easily worth an extra $100.

Yeah, I'll be here all Thanksgiving weekend, Kevin...
we're actually playing a show at Whiskey Richards next Wed.
If you wanna trade more pedals for a while, that's cool. I've got
your Keeley Java Boost...(used that on a track we recorded, On Fyre by The Lyres
a week before the Tea Fire...(now how's that for appropos?)...scary!

wow, nice photographs, Ryan.

I'm glad i can see the circuit board on yours,
cause i don't really wanna remove the screws on this one
(they're sealed with a daub of white paint) it's just too mint.

I think those are the same trannies as one of the Sekova variants,
if i remember correctly, but doesn't have that bassy fuzz like the Sekova.
How does yours sound, Ryan? I mean where would you place in comparison to?

The "Fuzz" control really doesn't have much variance in sound from Min to Max.
Is yours like that?

Funny...they used only 1/2 of the DPDT - they could have done true bypass like a Fuzz Face, but instead chose to fuck up the bypassed tone :hyper:

Still...a VERY cool fuzz
