well i've just figured out that it's a OD-850/maxon D & S with a switch for the tone control instead of a pot..... still need to wrap my brain around what the switch is doing but a D & S is it's essence!!!!

The D&S strikes again.
Oh, DB? That's just slang for Dandy Big muff collector.

figured out the tone switch.... basically the switch makes it go from full treble to full bass..... nothing in between!!! :smashed: might have to put a pot in there instead of the tone switch.... :chillin: oh and it's got a jfet input buffer.......

That... is so crazy. I wondered why it was the coolest super fuzz I'd ever heard... Muff for the win!

Here is the schematic we traced out from the 83 that Bart has.
Image

It has a K30A Fet, a 2SC644 and another K30A at the end. T1 & T3 are the FETS. Both pots are 50KB's on the original too...
Oops!I used a regular bipolar symbol in the schematic

It is a crazy sounding circuit. I would be interested to hear what you you guys say about this setup. I found the original a bit gatey and by re-biasing R2, R5 & R11 to 6K8 it sings. I also changed C4 to a .1uf. Those were the only changes I made to tune it to my ear. I added the pull down resistors too.

Hope this helps
