BOSS DD2
Hello there,
How can I power a old Boss DD2 without messing it up? I just purchased one used.
I usually power pedals with a 1 Spot and daisy chain.
Newbie question but useful for me
thanks a lot!

Re: BOSS DD2
Is there something inherent with this pedal that would prevent it from being powered from your normal supply?

Don't know. I'm always prudent when it comes to older pedals, not standard 9V negative.
That's why I'm asking...

I would think that battery is the safest bet, but of course you could just use a separate power supply for just your delay as well. My little battery powered practice amps are Center Positive so I use another wall-wart for them.Dullboy wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 3:52 pmDon't know. What does the label say on the back of your DD-2?

Re: BOSS DD2
also, FWIW, if it IS older and needs an ACA style supply, plugging a PSA or other 9V supply wont hurt it. Many older Boss pedal's will run fine on a One Spot, some might just lose intensity, and others wont work at all. Also how well they work will be dependent on the supply....unregulated One Spots may put out 9.43V, say, while a Voodoo labs may produce a proper 9V. Either way neither will hurt a DD-2 as long as the supply is center negative.

Re: BOSS DD2
Then it needs a 9V, center negative supply. AKA standard pedal power.

Re: BOSS DD2
For example my DM2 asks for ACA adaptor. I've bought the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 plus just for that...Dr Tony Balls wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 4:13 pm also, FWIW, if it IS older and needs an ACA style supply, plugging a PSA or other 9V supply wont hurt it. This DD2 asks for PSA instead.
